What are synonyms?

Synonyms are words that have the same or nearly the same meaning. Learning synonyms helps expand vocabulary and makes writing more interesting and precise.

Examples:

  • fast β†’ quick

Not all synonyms mean exactly the same thing. Some words may share similar meanings but are used in different situations.

Why are synonyms important?
